ITINERARY:

Day 01: Board your overnight flight for Germany

Day 02: Arrive Frankfurt

Welcome to Frankfurt. Check-in this afternoon and enjoy an orientation drive through this fascinating city. Meet your Travel Director and companions later for a Welcome Reception. Stay at the Sheraton Offenbach Hotel.

Day 03: Frankfurt – Leipzig – Berlin (2 Nights)

Travel through Saxony to the bustling town of Leipzig which was once one of the major cities of the former East Germany. Until his death this city was also home to composer Johann Sebastian Bach. Continue through to Berlin, a contrasting city with a rich and varied history. (B) Stay at the Hilton Hotel.

Day 04: Berlin Sightseeing and Free Time

This morning enjoy a Cultural Insight experience with fantastic 360° views of the city from the Berlin TV Tower. See the Reichstag, Tiergarten, Brandenburg Gate and Unter den Linden Boulevard with a Local Specialist during your included sightseeing tour. Spend free time afterwards shopping for souvenirs and exploring this captivating city. (B)

Day 05: Berlin – Warsaw (2 Nights)

Head east across the central plains to the Polish capital Warsaw. After dinner this evening you might like to explore the city's nightlife or treat yourself to a Chopin recital. (B, D) Stay at The Westin

Day 06: Warsaw Sightseeing and Free Time

Admire Warsaw's historic centre including the Old Town during your sightseeing tour with a Local Specialist. Visit the site of the Warsaw Ghetto, shockingly evoked in Polanski's award-winning film 'The Pianist'. Explore the city on your own during your free time. Consider a visit to the Wilanow Palace, a priceless testimony to the splendor of Poland's past. Join your companions this evening for a Regional Meal at a local restaurant. (B, Regional Meal)

Day 07: Warsaw – Czestochowa – Auschwitz – Krakow (2 Nights)

Visit the 14th century Jasna Gora Monastery at Czestochowa. This is Poland's greatest place of pilgrimage and home to the Black Madonna of Czestochowa, Jasna Gora's most precious treasure. Later your visit to the Auschwitz Memorial Site is a sobering reminder of the atrocities of World War II. Tonight dine at your hotel in the medieval city of Krakow. (B, D). Day 08: Krakow Sightseeing and Free Time

This morning consider joining an Optional Experience to the Wieliczka Salt mine, one of the world's oldest salt mines, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to an entire chapel carved from the rock salt as well as dozens of sculptures. Enjoy a Small Group Sightseeing walking tour with a Local Specialist of the medieval Old Town and visit the Cloth Hall and Mariacki Church. See Wawel Castle and enjoy panoramic views of the city from Wawel Hill. Relax this afternoon or explore the Market Square and city on your own. This evening perhaps enjoy an evening of Folklore. (B)

Day 09: Krakow – Slovakia – Budapest (2 Nights)

Drive south into the foothills of the Tatra Mountains and across the border into Slovakia. Admire the changing landscapes as you continue into Hungary. Arrive later at the majestic capital Budapest. This evening why not consider a scenic river cruise along the Danube. (B) Stay at the Marriott Courtyard Center

Day 10: Budapest Sightseeing and Free Time

Built on the banks of the romantic River Danube, Budapest is one of Europe's most beautiful cities. Your sightseeing tour with a Local Specialist features views of the famous Chain Bridge, the UNESCO listed Castle Hill district and a visit to the Fisherman's Bastion for superb views of the Parliament and Danube. Afterwards, explore on your own or perhaps take a trip to Szentendre, a charming town popular with artists. Day 11: Budapest – Győr – Vienna (2 Nights)

Before leaving beautiful Budapest why not take a guided tour of the amazing Parliament building? Then cross the Transdanubia region dotted with orchards and vineyards to Győr. Visit this Roman town, which has retained much of its medieval and baroque charm. Arrive later in Vienna, your home for the next two nights. (B) Stay at the Hilton Danube

Day 12: Vienna Sightseeing and Free Time

From the Parliament building to the Hofburg, the State Opera House to St. Stephen's Cathedral, admire the city's imperial elegance on your included sightseeing tour with a Local Specialist. Spend free time sightseeing on your own or shop on the fashionable Kärntnerstrasse. This evening why not join an Optional Experience to a famous local hostelry for a meal and musical entertainment. Day 13: Vienna – Tabor – Prague (2 Nights)

Travel north into the Czech Republic and visit Tabor, once a Hussite stronghold. Arrive later in the capital Prague, a lively hub of art and culture. (B, D). Stay at the Andel's by Vienna House Prague

Day 14: Prague Sightseeing and Free Time

Your Local Specialist explains the history of Prague during your guided sightseeing tour. Visit the impressive St. Vitus Cathedral, which is set inside the 1,000 year-old Prague Castle. Cross the Vltava River to the cobblestoned Old Town square and view the Astronomical Clock. Spend time afterwards seeing more sights or perhaps enjoy a cruise on the Vltava River. (B)

Day 15: Prague – Frankfurt (1-night)

This morning travel west across the German border before arriving in cosmopolitan Frankfurt for your final night. Tonight celebrate with your traveling companions at a Farewell Dinner. (B, D).  Stay at the Sheraton Offenbach

Day 16: Depart Frankfurt

Say farewell to your new found friends at the end of your memorable holiday. Transfers are available to Frankfurt Airport. (B)
