Day 01: Depart for Budapest, Hungary
Day 02: Arrive Budapest, Hungary (2-nights)
You'll be meet at the airport and transported to your hotel in Budapest. You can choose to stay in standard, 4 or 5 star hotel properties in basic or upgraded room types. This quote will include well located, standard 3-star hotel properties in the city center. (B)
Day 03: Budapest city sightseeing tour
This morning enjoy a guided sightseeing tour which visits Matthias Coronation Church and impressive Hero's Square with the Millennium Monument, built in 1896, at its center. Behind the monument is a semicircular colonnade with statues of famous men who made their marks on Hungary. Statues atop the colonnade symbolize Labor & Wealth, Knowledge & Glory, War, and Peace. Also take a drive up to Fishermen’s Bastion for magnificent panoramas of Buda and Pest on either side of the Danube River. (B)
Day 04: Budapest–Zakopane – Krakow (3-nights)
You'll be picked up at your hotel, by private driver and be driven to Krakow (6hrs). Enroute you’ll stop in at Zakopane, Poland – a lovely alpine village located in the Tatra Mountains of Poland. Here you can walk around in the quaint village center and take the Cable Car to Mt. Kasprowy. Your day will end at your centrally located hotel in Krakow Old Town. (B)
Day 05: Auschwitz Birkenau Small Group Tour
Auschwitz is one of the best-known concentration camps in the world; it is a place of genocide where approximately 1.5 million people were killed during WWII. The tour includes a visit to Auschwitz I - the administrative centre of Auschwitz death camp and Auschwitz II, designed and constructed as an extermination facility. The place has remained a living monument of death. Every year, millions of visitors from around the world walk through the gate bearing a fallacious inscription: Arbeit macht frei , 'Work sets one free'. Defeating the same route as prisoners for over half a century ago.The programme of the visit comprises the introduction to the origins of the camp, its history and the everyday life of its prisoners. The museum was founded in 1947, combining the area of KL Auschwitz (Auschwitz I) in O wi cim and the Birkenau camp (Auschwitz II) in Brzezinka; it comprises approximately 150 buildings and 300 ruins. The original roads, fences, watchtowers and railway ramps have been preserved. The buildings house the collection of original exhibits and documents. In 1979, the concentration camp was designated as one of the UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. After your guided tour of Auschwitz you will return to Krakow by coach. You can choose to add the Wieliczka Salt Mine to your day today or save it for another day (as it's on the opposite side of Krakow ($). (B)
Day 06: Krakow free day
Enjoy this splendidly preserved medieval walled city on foot or choose an optional sightseeing excursion. Visit the trendy Kazimierz district which is the historic Jewish Quarter of Krakow. (B)
Day 07: Krakow - Olomouc – Prague (3-nights)
Today, after breakfast you’ll be driven, by your private car & driver to Prague with a stopover in Olomouc, Czech Republic for a few hrs. The total drive is 5.5hrs plus stop. You’ll end your day at your centrally located Prague hotel.
Day 08: Prague city sightseeing tour
Morning guided sightseeing includes views of 1,000-year-old Hradcany Castle and a walk in the Castle courtyards. See Staromestski Square, which dates back to the 12th century and started life as the central marketplace for the city. It is surrounded by historic buildings, beautiful churches, and the Astronomical Clock on the Old Town Hall tower. Also admire Prague’s famous Charles Bridge, a masterpiece of engineering and one of the oldest stone bridges in Europe. (B)
Day 09: Free day Prague
With a full day at leisure to enjoy the “Golden City,” you'll have optional excursions available for you to choose from. Prague is a compact, scenic city which is a delight to discover on foot. Explore the many quaint streets and cafes, cross the famous St. Charles bridge or do some shopping. It's a wonderful city to end your vacation on. (B)
Day 10: Prague to Home (or extend your tour)
After breakfast you'll be transferred to the airport for your return flight. You can choose to travel to other European cities from here or return home, your choice! (B)
